Mental health is health
When I get that little tickle in my throat, I’ve always known what to do. Early to bed, avoid sugar, cancel the night out with friends, sneak in a nap, wait for my body to kick it, and know I’ll feel better soon.
I’ve learned to see the little warning signs of my mental health slipping the same way I see, accept (without judgement or analysis), and respond, to me fighting something physically.
Ruminating? Short tempered with the kids? Overthinking an interaction? Feeling bored, lethargic or irritable? Time to simplify and up self care. Sneak in a nap, takeout for dinner, avoid stressful conversations, escape with a good show, go slow and gently.
Mental health is health.
